It all started with Mom’s Sunday Roast.
Carol, aka Tootie
(Karl’s Mom) would make her Italian beef a few times a year on Sundays. The whole
house would smell amazing. Our family would salivate while waiting for it to finish. We would get our
hoagie rolls ready and Tootie loaded them with meat. Seconds became thirds pretty quickly with this
meal.
Karl took his moms recipe and opened up Tootie’s Famous Italian Beef in 2012. The Post-Gazette and
other Pittsburgh media immediately fell in love and wrote twelve articles about us in the first year. In
one of their articles, reporter Melissa McCarthy named us the best roast beef in Pittsburgh. We continue
to gain great press coverage year after year and Pittsburgher’s have fallen in love with our amazing food.
We only use the freshest ingredients from local sources whenever possible. Our high quality food is
what creates our amazing flavors. You will love it. Our food only takes a few seconds per item to
assemble, so stop down and give us a try.
